Beth Phoenix has shared the inspiration behind her look at the 2022 Royal Rumble as she pays tribute to the unique WWE Hall of Famer Luna Vachon.
WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix returned to the ring for the first time in over two years as she teamed up with husband Edge to defeat The Miz and Maryse in tag team action. The Hall of Fame couple won the day after hitting stereo Glam Slams to their unfortunate opponents.
Phoenix entered the arena with a stunning look that may have struck a chord with long-time wrestling fans as the Glamazon has now taken to social media to share the fact that she was paying tribute to the late, great Luna Vachon.
Luna was a part of a wrestling dynasty in the Vachon family with uncle ‘Mad Dog’ Vachon, step-father Paul ‘Butcher’ Vachon, and aunt Vivian Vachon all plying their trade in the squared circle.
After building a reputation on the independent scene, Luna Vachon joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1993, making her first appearance by the side of Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 9. Shortly after, Vachon formed a partnership with Bam Bam Bigelow, with the pair competing in a memorable ‘mixed’ tag team match at WrestleMania 10 against Doink and Dink.

After short stints in ECW and WCW, Luna rejoined the WWF, this time by the side of Goldust and his character got downright weird in the Attitude Era. Luna also went on to join the Oddities stable and challenged several times for the WWF Women’s Championship before leaving the company in 2000.
Luna Vachon retired from the ring in 2007 and in August 2010 sadly passed away due to an overdose at the age of 48. Vachon was enshrined in immortality in 2019 when she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Legacy Wing.
