WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix has announced that she will be leaving NXT after WarGames on December 5th.

Beth Phoenix has announced that WarGames will be her final night in the NXT announce booth. The former Women’s Champion said that she had made the decision so she could spend more time with her family.

In a statement posted on social media, Phoenix said that she was proud of NXT, adding that she’ll always be part of the brand. She went on to thank many of the people she has worked alongside during her stint with the brand including Mauro Ranallo, Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Phoenix began her commentary career in 2018, before joining the NXT announce team on a permanent basis in May 2019.

Speaking in July, Phoenix revealed that she’s medically cleared to wrestle and there had been “little conversations” about her returning to action. Speculation around her future has increased in recent days in light of her husband appearing to enter into a feud with The Miz and his wife Maryse on Raw.

Beth Phoenix first signed with WWE back in 2004, appearing for the company’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. Phoenix would make her main roster debut in May 2006 as an ally to Trish Stratus, however, she returned to OVW after a fractured mandible completely severed her jaw.

Phoenix would make her return to the main roster in 2007, dubbing herself ‘The Glamazon’. She would go on to play a pivotal role in the women’s division, becoming a one-time Divas Champion and three-time Women’s Champion.

The Glamazon retired from in-ring competition in 2012 and was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame five years later. Her most recent competitive appearance came in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble.
