The Best Friends group may be frequent flyers through wrestling’s forbidden door as the group look set to bring some chaos to AEW after joining an NJPW group.
On AEW Dynamite, New Japan star and Trent of Best Friends former tag team partner Rocky Romero competed in his second AEW match when he took on Bryan Danielson. Danielson earned the submission win after trapping Romero in the Tequila Sunrise.
However before Dynamite began, Rocky Romero was on official CHAOS business – the group is he is affiliated with in NJPW. Romero told the entire Best Friends contingent – minus Trent who is still out injured – that The Rainmaker and leader of CHAOS Kazuchika Okada himself had extended an invitation to the group to join his faction.
Orange Cassidy wasn’t sure what Rocky Romero was talking about but an excited Chuck Taylor gleefully accepted meaning that Taylor, Trent, Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta, and Kris Statlander are all now a part of CHAOS.

This marks a return to the group for Chuck Taylor and Trent who were previously card-carrying CHAOS members before they left NJPW to join AEW. Trent first joined CHAOS in 2013 when he wrestled in NJPW as Beretta. He formed the Roppongi Vice tag team with Rocky Romero in 2015 and the two men went on to capture the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship four times. Taylor joined the group in 2017 when he began teaming with Trent.
Another interesting note is that Kris Statlander becomes the first female star to be part of CHAOS in the group’s twelve year history.
