Best Bros Retain In ChocoPro Season Six Finale

Baliyan Akki and Mei Suruga, the team collectively known as the Best Bros, retained the Asia Dream Tag Team Championships at ChocoPro #108 to see out the promotion’s sixth season.

The pair faced arguably their biggest challenge to date in the veteran duo of Psycho and Chango, who had been in a rich vein of form since appearing at ChocoPro #100 in March.

In the weeks prior, Pyscho and Chango had seen off two of the Best Bros’ biggest tag team rivals in the Egg Tarts (Chie Koishikawa and Hagane Shinnou) and the revamped Pencil Army (Lulu Pencil and Chris Pencil).

However, they were unable to find an answer for the dynamic tag team champions, although they certainly came close.

In an epic contest that went just shy of thirty minutes, Akki and Suruga were able to outlast their opponents, nailing their pattened double team roll-up on Pyscho for the victory.

After the bout, Suruga compelled a visibly exhausted Akki back to his feet, screaming “You’re a champion” at her partner as he forced himself from the mat.

The win crystallised a positive weekend for Suruga in particular, who had earlier claimed tag team gold in Tokyo Joshi Pro under her Mei Saint-Michel moniker.

The season finale likely comes at a good time for the champions, whose four title defences had all run in excess of 25 minutes in length.

ChocoPro returns with its seventh season on April 29th, where the BestBros will be in action again, defending against the Black Comaneci team of Antonio Honda and Tokiko Kirihara.
