Beloved WWE Tag Team Possibly Reuniting At WrestleMania 39

WWE WrestleMania

With WrestleMania 39 right around the corner, WWE is looking to make the event an unforgettable experience. There are several special moments scheduled for the event, and a reunion of one of the company’s most popular tag teams could be one of them.

Speaking on the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that the New Day is set for a reunion at WrestleMania 39.

Big E gave an update on his physical condition while on Busted Open Radio. “We’re actually going to do that (a one-year checkup) when we get back home after WrestleMania, which basically confirmed he’s at least going there, as there had been talk of a New Day reunion spot on one of the shows but that was before Kingston’s ankle surgery.

“Early April, during that first week, we’ll get another set of scans. Right now, the issue was, the thought was after three months I should be ready, but because of the nature of my fracture, I broke my C-1 in two places, and it’s a Jefferson fracture. Sometimes, unfortunately with that injury, thankfully there’s no displacement, so we didn’t need to have surgery and all the bones were still in place to hopefully heal together properly.”

He also said that his neck is “Connected enough that I can walk around and no one is concerned that I’m going to be in any pain or have any issues, but it’s not ossifying yet, it’s not turning completely into bone.” The doctors will review the new scans he gets and make a decision from there. “Your C-1 is an important bone and I want to make the best decision health-wise for myself.

You don’t want to rush. I’ve been in rehab for nine months, working on strength and range of motion and all of that has been great. That’s where we’re at right now. We’ll get the scans and move on from there.

Will The New Day Reunite At WWE WrestleMania 39?

While Big E is still recovering from his career-threatening injury his health update seemingly revealed that he will be in attendance at the Hollywood supershow. Despite this good news, one of his partners Kofi Kingston is also recovering from injury.

On the March 3rd edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Kingston suffered an ankle injury during an Intercontinental Championship brawl. Since then he has undergone surgery, which will likely rule him out of having any physical involvement in WrestleMania 39 on April 1 and 2.

Now it seems as if Xavier Woods won’t be in action at the Show of Shows either as the Up Up Down Down host is set to compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
