At SummerSlam 2022 Becky Lynch took on Bianca Belair in her quest to regain the Raw Women’s Championship. The former champion was defeated by Belair for the gold at WrestleMania 38 and was desperate to climb back to the top of the red brand’s women’s division.
However, not only was Lynch defeated by Belair, she also suffered a shoulder injury in the process. Despite the issue, The Man powered through the rest of the match to the planned finish. The injury put Lynch on the side-lines for the best part of four months, only returning at Survivor Series.
Becky Lynch Has Big Plans For Future Live Event
Due to her injury Becky Lynch missed out on competing at WWE Clash At The Castle, the first stadium show to be held in the United Kingdom in 30 years. While Drew McIntyre was given a hero’s welcome in the main event of the show in Cardiff, Wales, the Irish star was forced to watch from home.
Speaking during a Q&A with Matthew Connell for Alternative Sport the star was asked about where she would like to see WWE hold a Premium Live Event in the future. Unsurprisingly, Lynch wants to see the company head to her homeland of Ireland and Croke Park.
“Oh, don’t remind me. It was very hard for me to watch that and to be missing out on it and hearing the crowd and how amazing they were. They were freaking amazing. I have faith that there will be more. Many more. Where would I like to take a major stadium show? Ireland. Croke Park. 100% that’s it. No hesitation with that.”
During the conversation Lynch also revealed that her shoulder still “doesn’t feel right” despite returning to the ring. At Survivor Series Becky Lynch teamed with Bianca Belair, Mia Yim, Asuka and Alexa Bliss to defeat Damage CTRL, Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross. It was The Man who scored the win after jumping from the top of the cage, driving Dakota Kai and IYO SKY through a table.
