Becky Lynch Calls WrestleMania Clash The Biggest Match In Women’s History

Becky Lynch Exlusive 1

Becky Lynch will meet Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38 in a match she thinks is the biggest in women’s wrestling history.

Becky Lynch returned to WWE programming at the 2021 SummerSlam pay-per-view, emphatically and controversially laying waste to Bianca Belair in just 26 seconds. The win has seen ‘Big Time Becks’ remain in the title picture ever since, as she captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship before switching it to the Raw Women’s Championship upon being drafted to the Raw brand.

With their WrestleMania 38 rematch coming with proper hype behind it, the WWE Universe is tremendously excited to see the two collide once more. That excitement is also running through Becky Lynch, who told talkSPORT and Inside The Ropes’ Alex McCarthy of the match’s importance with regards to the history of women’s wrestling:

“Yeah, I am. What? Is there more? Are there more posters for them than there are for me? I’ve seen billboards of me all over the place and so I think that matters a bit more than a little poster. We don’t take any posters when we’re big time, we take our frickin billboards.

Yeah, they can have the posters, the scrap change. Their fricking match is for the birds, our match is the biggest match in women’s history. Two main event winners, two WrestleMania main event winners going head to head in the main event of WrestleMania. Huge.”

Lynch vs. Belair is currently advertised for the first night of WrestleMania on Saturday, 2 April. The other women’s singles bout for ‘Mania – Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the former’s SmackDown Women’s Championship – is expected to main event WrestleMania Saturday.

Joining the main roster in April 2020, Bianca Belair has quickly become one of the top WWE Superstars, winning the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match from number three before dethroning Sasha Banks of the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the headline attraction of WrestleMania 37’s first night. She reigned as champion for the following 132 days before Becky Lynch returned.
