Becky Lynch sent a heartfelt message to Paige after the former Divas Champion’s WWE exit.
On June 10th, former SmackDown General Manager Paige took to social media to announce that her time with WWE would be coming to an end on July 7th, ending an eleven year journey with the company. The star has been absent from WWE television for years after being forced into retirement due to suffering a neck injury.
When July 7th came, Paige, real name Saraya, published a Player’s Tribune article thanking everyone from female talent to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H for allowing her to become the wrestler many fans will remember her for. She also took the time to write a thank you to WWE officials.
Following her departure, former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch took to social media to lavish praise on her fellow former Team PCB member, saying that the first NXT Women’s Champion changed the game before she was legally even allowed to drink in the United States.
“I met Saraya when she was only 13 years old. Even then you could tell that she was going to be a star. Before she could legally drink in America, she had changed the game completely and forever. #thankyoupaige”
