It has been announced that Becky Lynch will put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line at Extreme Rules against Bianca Belair.
WWE authority figures Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce confirmed the match on the September 3rd edition of SmackDown. Not only that, champion and challenger will sign the paperwork to make the match official when SmackDown rolls into Madison Square Garden on September 10th.
Bianca Belair lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in stunning fashion at SummerSlam. Belair had been scheduled to face Sasha Banks, but The Boss was unable to compete. This left the door open to The Man to make her triumphant WWE return. Following a quick right hand and a Man-handle Slam, Lynch pinned the champion to claim her forth SmackDown women’s crown.
On the following episode of SmackDown, Lynch attempted to explain her actions by saying that she did nothing wrong and had nothing to apologise for. This brought out the former champion who laid down a challenge which Lynch ignored.
Later in the show, Belair won a Fatal-4-Way match earning herself a shot at regaining the title.

On the September 3rd edition of the blue brand, Lynch again came to the ring to address the crowd. The Man said that she saved Belair’s SummerSlam match, claiming she has no reason to complain about being beaten so quickly.
This brought out Belair who admitted that the defeat hurt her, but she would never tear down another woman to build herself up. The EST of WWE said that seeing as Roman Reigns was defending his title on SmackDown, Lynch should too.
However, the Irishwoman had other plans, saying that she didn’t care what Roman does before turning down the challenge and leaving the ring.
