Becky Lynch will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship at Crown Jewel on October 21st.
Following the shocking return of Sasha Banks at Extreme Rules, WWE have announced that Becky Lynch will defend her championship against both The Boss and Bianca Belair in Saudi Arabia.
Lynch had been in the process of defending her title against Belair at Extreme Rules when Banks made her stunning return.
Just over 16 minutes into her tense battle with Lynch over the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Bianca Belair deadlifted the champion out of the Disarmher and looked certain to recapture the gold with the KOD before her Banks made her return. With the match ruled a No Contest, Banks promptly attacked the stunned champion after the bell for good measure.
The Boss had been due to challenge Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam but was replaced on the show by Lynch. In Banks’ absence, Lynch pinned Belair in 26 seconds to capture the gold in her first appearance in more than a year.
Banks disappeared from WWE television following SummerSlam, with no official reason being given as to why. A report from Fightful after the event, revealed that Banks wasn’t cleared to compete, but had no further details.
Also announced for Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar.
The Beast made a return of his own at SummerSlam immediately confronting the champion. Meanwhile, Reigns retained his championship at Extreme Rules, overcoming The Demon Finn Balor.
