Becky Lynch Takes Aim At Ronda Rousey Amid Return Rumours

As speculation grows around a potential return to action for Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch has wasted no time in firing the first warning shot at her old rival.

The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey goes all of the way back to 2018. It’s a feud that’s endured a planned showdown being cancelled, the birth of two children, both women being on hiatus and multiple title reigns.

While the verbal and physical jabs have slowed in recent months as Lynch continues to defend her Raw Women’s Title, and Ronda enjoys raising her daughter away from the glare of WWE, that doesn’t mean that either woman has taken their eye totally off the other.

On January 24th it was reported that Rousey is in training for a return and could even be back in the ring at the Royal Rumble. This was followed by another report which claimed that a huge clash between the former UFC star and Becky Lynch is under “heavy consideration” for WrestleMania 38.

Never one to miss an opportunity to one-up the opposition, Lynch took to social media to share a photo of her alongside her Raw Women’s Championship. The caption simply reading “I was wondering if you’d show up again. I’ve still got her, and she’s doing great.”

Lynch famously pinned Rousey to win the Raw Women’s Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Meanwhile, back in October 2021, Big Time Becks asked if she had any advice for Rousey, to which she replied “Don’t come back, I’m still on top, you won’t like it.”

Heading into Survivor Series in 2018, Lynch was SmackDown Women’s Champion while Rousey held the gold on Raw.

The plan was to have the two women meet in a huge inter-promotional match at Survivor Series to determine the real top woman in WWE. However, best laid plans have a tendency to go awry, and so it was the case here.

Lynch led an invasion of Raw by SmackDown’s women’s roster only to receive a broken nose and a concussion in the process at the hands of Nia Jax. This meant that the star was pulled from her showdown against the former UFC Champion.

At the event Lynch was replaced by Charlotte Flair. This eventually led to the Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 35 between Lynch, Rousey and Flair with both Women’s belts on the line.

Becky Lynch will be back in action at the 2022 Royal Rumble when she defends her prized championship against Doudrop.
