Becky Lynch has hit out at the AEW women’s division claiming they simply aren’t as good as their WWE counterparts.
Former Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has never been one to hold back when asked for an opinion. Her very real feud with Charlotte Flair in 2021 was was all the evidence that fans needed to show that Lynch is a force to be reckoned with when she has something on her mind.
Since returning to WWE at SummerSlam, Big Time Becks has cemented herself as one of the biggest female stars on the planet, often being one of the main focal points of WWE programming.
While Lynch has made sure of her spot at the top of the WWE mountain, AEW have been steadily building their own women’s division. This has included signing former WWE stars such as Ruby Soho and most recently Toni Storm.
Appearing on Drew Garabo Live Featured Cut Of The Day, Lynch was asked whether the AEW women’s division gives her another reason to continue to raise the bar. Answering seemingly in character, Lynch proceeded to deliver a damning assessment of the division, claiming they simply aren’t as good as the women in WWE.
“I wish I could say ‘yes,’ but, unfortunately, I don’t think they are represented the way we are, they don’t get as much time as we get and frankly, they’re not as good as we are,”
“We have, certainly on Raw, we have the best women’s division in the world. I say that without any hesitation in my voice. We have the best women’s division in the world. Competition is great and it’s great for there to be another place and I have a very good friend, Ruby Soho, over there and I would love to see her as champion one day. I would love to see her get the spotlight she deserves. Competition is always great. Over here, we’re on another level.”
On the April 25th episode of Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch returned to the red brand for the first time since being defeated by Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. However, just as Lynch was preparing the world for her comeback and rise back to the top, she was interrupted by Asuka, making her first appearance since July.
