Becky Lynch has spoke glowingly about a match she had with a WWE Hall Of Famer, claiming she “would love to go again”.
Earlier this year, Becky Lynch feuded with WWE Hall Of Famer Lita, which culminated in a match between the two for the Raw Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia.
The match was Lita’s first singles action since 2006 when she was defeated by Mickie James at Survivor Series. However, the veteran earned plaudits for her performance, as she went toe-to-toe with a performer regarded as one of the best in WWE’s women’s division.
Lynch recently appeared on Ryan Satin’s ‘Out of Character’ podcast and spoke about how much she admired Lita:
“She was my hero, and she’s somebody who always championed for me when I was nobody when I was the underdog. I think maybe she saw a little bit of herself in me, and to be able to work with her and tell a story that wasn’t the typical, oh you’re a has been! Because she’s not obviously, you could see her go. She’s awesome.”
‘The Man’ also admitted that she would not be opposed to re-visiting their feud in the future:
“If Lita ever wants to come back again. I would love to go again because she’s amazing. And to tell the story of this is my idol whose comeback and now you’re trying to take my title away from me.”
Speaking on the match itself, Lynch revealed that it was Lita that convinced her to do her first ever moonsault in their bout:
“I think we had a good match and to be able to be in there with her and to push myself by the way to, for the first time in my life, do a moonsault…it was very scary for me. I always say it I’m not an athlete; I’m somebody who works very hard at this craft, and she pushed me towards doing that and supported me and believed in me like she has my entire career”
The former Raw Women’s Champion is currently sidelined due to an injury she suffered at SummerSlam, but recently revealed that she hopes to be back sooner than she initially expected.
