Becky Lynch may have competed in her final WWE match for the foreseeable future.
Following the controversial ending to her match against Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring, which saw Morgan defeat Lynch to become the new Women’s World Champion thanks to interference from Dominik Mysterio, The Man demanded a rematch. Announced ahead of the May 27th episode of Raw, Lynch was granted her rematch as she faced off against Morgan in a steel cage match with the title on the line with it being common knowledge that the former champion was approaching the end of her current deal.
Once again, Mysterio was inadvertently a factor in the finish of the match. As Mysterio held open the door to supposedly help Lynch, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh made their way to the ringside area. Braun Strowman’s music hit and The Monster chased McDonagh as he had been tracking down The Judgment Day member throughout the show. As Strowman chased McDonagh around the ring, he charged into Mysterio causing the door to slam into Lynch’s face. With Lynch out cold, Morgan climbed out of the cage via the door to win the match and retain the title.
As the show went off the air, fan footage saw an emotional Lynch sitting in the ring before climbing to her feet, waving to the fans and making her way to the back as her music played for the live crowd.
