Becky Lynch’s interference in her husband Seth Rollins’ title defense against CM Punk at Clash in Paris has sent ripples through the WWE universe.

Now, with WWE’s next stop being Friday Night SmackDown in Chicago on September 5, speculation is growing that CM Punk’s real-life wife and three-time Divas Champion, AJ Lee, will make her in-ring return to even the score.
It has been ten years since AJ Lee last wrestled, her final match airing on RAW in March 2015. On Busted Open, Natalya, who shared the ring with Lee in her final bout, gave her verdict:
But the biggest thing is that you cannot – Becky (Lynch) needs to have her a** kicked and I think that if A.J. really – if she’s really gonna stand up for (CM) Punk… I think that there’s an emotional charge. There should be an emotional charge in that person wanting to come back for revenge or redemption that I would love to see that stands out above everything else.” She added, ” I think she is ready to go,” supporting the decision of Lee’s return. Natalya noted that she has not seen AJ’s training routines or current shape, but added that a recent photo showed Lee is ‘jacked.’ That mix of emotion and physical readiness could make for one of the most talked-about returns in recent memory.

Beyond the headline-grabbing quote, Natalya also praised AJ Lee’s past advocacy when the women’s division needed a voice. She credited Lee, Paige, and the Bella Twins for pushing WWE to give female talent longer matches and more creative freedom. She recalled that these women dared to say that they wanted more. That same courage may drive Lee back to the ring, not just for nostalgia but to settle a personal score.
