Becky Lynch has given a hilarious response to fans who have been chanting for Cody Rhodes during Seth Rollins’ segments on television.
As speculation linking Cody Rhodes with a return to WWE has continued to grow, fans began chanting his name on Monday Night Raw.
It was later reported that Rhodes will be making his big comeback against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38. This meant that fans now had a target for their “Cody” chants. This only intensified as Rollins was embarking on his quest to get himself a match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Rollins’ journey reached a climax on March 28th, when Vince McMahon called Rollins into his office for a meeting. The upshot of the meeting was that Rollins was granted his WrestleMania match. However, it came with the caveat that his mystery opponent would be chosen my McMahon and he wouldn’t find out their identity until he’s standing in the ring.
Seth Rollins’ wife Becky Lynch has now offered a response to the fans chanting for Rhodes during his interviews. Lynch explained to IB Sports that fans were actually chanting “Colby” which is Rollins’ government name, because they know him so well.
“You’re thinking of his government name,”
“Seth’s government name is Colby. I think because everybody feels like they know him so well, they’ve been chanting ‘Col-by, Col-by!’ I mean, he’s so good that he could have a match with himself and it would be awesome. So yeah, maybe he’ll be forced to have a match with himself, but hell, if it wasn’t on the same night that my match is, he could steal the show.”
While Rollins might not officially know who he’s facing at WrestleMania, Becky Lynch knows the identity of her opponent. On night one of the spectacular, Lynch will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.
