Becky Lynch Gets Unexpected Assist From 36-Year-Old WWE Star; Things Go Haywire At SummerSlam

Becky Lynch Announced For Non-WWE Appearance

Becky Lynch received some support tonight from an unlikely source, as things went haywire.

Tonight, on Night Two of SummerSlam, Becky Lynch defended the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria. It was a No Disqualification, No Contest Last Chance match. Should Lynch prevail, Valkyria would not be allowed to challenge her for the title as long as the former is champion.

Well, The Man was successful in her endeavor, as she got an unexpected assist from a 36-year-old WWE star. The star in question is one that Lynch is familiar with and has had a storied rivalry with, Bayley. The Role Model invaded the match, hoping to help Valkyria.

However, she inadvertently ended up helping Becky Lynch as things went haywire. Towards the end of the match, Lynch and Valkyria were involved in a complicated sequence. The champ reversed an attempted Nightwing and proceeded to attempt a Manhandle Slam, which the challenger also successfully reversed.

That was when things went out of control, as Bayley, looking to punch The Man with a steel chain wrapped around her fist, ended up clocking the 28-year-old instead.

Lynch took advantage of this and hit the dazed Valkyria with a Manhandle Slam, picking up the win.

Becky Lynch debuted a new entrance theme at SummerSlam

Speaking of the match between Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch, the latter debuted a new entrance theme at SummerSlam. For the longest time, The Man entered the arena to the tune of “Celtic Invasion” by CFO$. However, that changed tonight.

Embracing her new heel persona, Lynch decided to couple it with some new entrance music, courtesy of The Wonder Years. The theme itself received mixed reactions from the WWE Universe, but that will certainly not bother the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
