Becky Lynch Confirms Injury Status On Raw Before Being Brutally Attacked

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch opened up Monday Night Raw with the unfortunate news that she was injured in her SummerSlam bout against Bianca Belair.

SummerSlam opened with Becky Lynch going face to face with Bianca Belair in an attempt to regain her Raw Women’s Championship. Belair, on the other hand, sought to redeem herself after being beaten by Lynch at last year’s SummerSlam in just 26 seconds.

Belair emerged victorious from the bout, and the two women shared a hug afterward in a show of mutual respect before the champion was confronted by a returning Bayley along with Dakota Kai and Io Shirai, who is now known as IYO SKY. However, it was reported today that Becky Lynch suffered a separated shoulder during the bout and may require surgery.

Sure enough, on Monday Night Raw, Big Time Becks opened the show by saying that at SummerSlam, she finally remembered who she is. She made note of her persistence and determination.

Becky Lynch confirmed that she separated her shoulder at SummerSlam and said that she had two choices: to give up or give the match everything she had. The former champion spoke about the pain she endured, and said that she wanted to help create the greatest women’s division they ever had.

Lynch said that she knew she’d given her best, but that her best wasn’t good enough that night. However, she is not defined by any one match or any title, and the instead, she defines the title. She also said that she won’t be defined by any man – instead, she defines The Man. Becky Lynch made it clear that it was time to start a new era, and it was time to start a new comeback story for herself, saying that it starts now.

She then said that she wanted to give credit to the woman who’s pushed her to be the best she can be, and called out Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The EST of WWE came to the ring and hugged her former foe, saying that she is The Man. Becky then departed the ring with the words “Hold it down, B. I’ll see you soon.”

Belair then went on to speak about the mutual respect between herself and Lynch, and said that she has never wanted to be handed anything. She spoke about wanting to continue defending her Raw Women’s Championship and prove that she’s the best, be it against Bayley or anyone else.

However, the champion was interrupted by a chaotic scene backstage being broadcast on the titan tron as Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKYE attacked the injured Becky Lynch, targeting her arm. Commentary said that the new faction was looking to exert some control over the Raw women’s division.
