Becky Lynch Compared To Mafia Boss In Hilarious Interview

Becky Lynch

‘The Man’ Becky Lynch is just days away from a huge WrestleMania match up. The popular Superstar will team with fellow WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Lita and Trish Stratus to take on Damage Ctrl, the trio of Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.

After a distinguished career in WWE, Lynch has been compared to any number of great Superstars of the past, but has likely never been likened to a Mafia boss….until now.

Becky Lynch likened to Mafia boss in hilarious recent interview

Appearing recently on The Tommy Tiernan Show in her native Ireland, Lynch would explain the origins of her ‘The Man’ nickname:

“Because for a long time, in my industry, in other industries, in other sporting industries, the top person in the industry has been called ‘The Man.’ Until now. I’m The Man, Tommy,”

Famed comic Tiernan, probably best known for his cameo role in the hit Irish sitcom Father Ted in the 1990’s, seemed taken aback by Lynch’s confidence and nervously compared her to a Mafia boss in retort:

“All of sudden I’m transported to some Italian restaurant in New York and I’m meeting the head of the mafia.”

Tiernan’s interview style has split online opinion, with many believing him to be dismissive of the WWE Superstar’s achievements in the ring. Whilst the interview was mostly light-hearted in nature, Lynch did open up when asked if he she had been bullied in her youth:

“Oh yeah, oh yeah. Because I was a chubby kid, so I was teased a lot and bullied a fair amount.

And I think there’s that thing in wrestling where you can be whoever you want to be. You have that chance to re-write history a bit, in a little way. Be the person that you want to be. Be that bad ass. Be that tough cookie.”
