Becky Lynch has carved her legacy as one of WWE’s top stars, and has high praise for a fellow Raw star who’s currently doing the same.
Rhea Ripley has always been a force to be reckoned with, but since joining The Judgment Day, the star has reached a new level. After winning the 2023 Royal Rumble, she declared that she wanted to face Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania despite being a member of the Raw roster.
On the Grandest Stage of Them All, Ripley and Charlotte went to war in a hard-hitting battle that’s received high praise from fans and critics alike. In the end, a Riptide from the second rope sealed Charlotte’s fate, and Ripley became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. This also served as a measure of retribution for Ripley as she’s come up short against Flair in the past.
Speaking in a new interview with ESPN MMA, Lynch heaped praise on the Judgment Day star, calling her a “natural” and a “star.” She also made a sly remark about beating Ripley for the title someday.
“She is the champion. She is one of the greatest female wrestlers I’ve ever seen in my entire life. She’s a natural, she’s a star. She is mesmerizing to watch. She’s the future of the wrestling business, I think. But I can’t wait to beat her for that title one day.”
“Rhea Has A Lot Of Time Left” – Becky Lynch On Potentially Unseating Rhea Ripley As Champion
Becky Lynch is a current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, but she hasn’t held singles gold since losing the Raw Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. When it comes to a potential match with Ripley for the SmackDown title, however, she says Ripley has a lot of time left on top. Furthermore, she believes Rhea is exactly the “fresh coat of paint” the SmackDown women’s division needs currently.
“My time is gonna come here one of these days, but Rhea has a lot of time left. I’m very excited [about] what she is going to do for the women’s division on SmackDown. I think it needs a fresh coat of paint, and I couldn’t think of a better fresh coat of paint than Rhea Ripley.”
Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair is reportedly taking a break from WWE following her loss at WrestleMania 39.
