Becky Lynch Pins Charlotte Flair To Claim Controversial Win At Survivor Series

Becky Lynch pinned Charlotte Flair to pick up the win over the SmackDown Women’s Champion, but the issues between the two women appear far from over.

The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair has blurred the lines between fact and fiction, reality and storyline. The pair have traded barbs in the ring, on social media and through numerous interviews. It was this animosity that led to one of the most highly anticipated matches in recent memory.

Unsurprisingly the match was incredibly physical from the outset, with the two women standing and trading shots in the middle of the ring on more than one occasion. After Flair got a couple of near-falls the SmackDown Women’s Champion challenged her rival to fight, and fight she did.

Lynch fired back with a couple of stiff forearms before scoring a near-fall of her own after a Leg Drop. The Raw Women’s Champion even tried locking in a Figure Four although Flair escaped, later retaliating with a Disarm-Her.

The match came to an abrupt conclusion with Lynch rolling up Flair for a three-count, but it wasn’t a pin without controversy. Big Time Beck’s made sure she had a big time arm around the ropes for extra leverage in the process.

Tensions between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair came to a head on the October 22nd edition of SmackDown. With the two women’s champions now appearing on the ‘wrong’ brand as a result of the 2021 WWE Draft, a championship exchange was due to take place.

However, the segment went anything but smoothly. Flair dropped her title on the floor, while Lynch ended up throwing her championship at Flair. This led to a confrontation between the pair backstage and The Queen being escorted from the building.

Speaking ahead of Survivor Series, Lynch claimed that she knew she would be “purposefully disrespected,” confirming that she “lost it” backstage as a result.
