Becky Lynch Reveals Apology Gift From Nia Jax After She Broke Her Nose

Becky Lynch has revealed a gift she received from Nia Jax after having her nose broken in November 2018.

Unquestionably one of the most iconic moments in modern WWE history came in November 2018, when Nia Jax floored Becky Lynch with a stiff punch, legitimately breaking her nose in the process and leaving “Big Time Becks” a bloody mess.

After appearing on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, the reigning Raw Women’s Champion confirmed she holds no ill feelings towards Nia Jax for the moment, revealing how the recently-released Jax even sent her an apology gift:

“She sent me flowers, but I should’ve sent her flowers. Yeah, yeah it was after that, there was an iconic image to go with the match.”

Though the SummerSlam 2018 post-match assault on Charlotte Flair is often credited as the beginning of Becky’s “The Man” persona, this is what truly set Lynch off into superstardom.

The brawl took place as part of the buildup to the 2018 Survivor Series pay-per-view, with Becky Lynch – then the SmackDown Women’s Champion – leading the blue brand’s women’s division into invading Raw on the 12 November broadcast. The producer of the segment, who Nia refrained from naming, told her to make the strike look real, saying as such while appearing on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast:

“It was right before Survivor Series, where I think her and Ronda were going to have a singles. SmackDown was invading Raw. The producer of that match, won’t name names, basically was like, ‘This needs to look real, say sorry later.’ We were all like, ‘Okay, cool, let’s go, let’s have fun, whatever.’

I continue to get punched in the back of the frigging head, and I was like, ‘Good lord,’ so I just turn around and I really go to clear the person. My fist wasn’t closed, I didn’t [intentionally] punch her, but it did connect. I didn’t even realize it was Becky. I honestly thought it was Lana.”

Becky Lynch currently serves as the Raw Women’s Champion in her second reign, having recently retained against Doudrop at the Royal Rumble last weekend. She’s expected to defend against Bianca Belair, as per Fightful Select, at WrestleMania 38 on 2 and 3 April.
