Bayley Aiming To Unite Women’s Locker Room And Bring Back Tag Team Titles

After making her WWE return at SummerSlam Bayley has set her sights on bringing the women’s locker room together, urging fellow stars to “trust the process.”

Prior to sustaining a serious knee injury in July 2021 Bayley gave herself the moniker the “Role Model” as she attempted to become the standard bearer for women’s wrestling in WWE.

However, that run was brought to a shuddering halt by a torn ACL, which forced the star to sit on the side-lines for more than a year. But with her injury now a thing of the past, Bayley is back and determined to make an impact, not only in the ring, but also backstage.

During a recent appearance on WWE’s After The Bell podcast, the former NXT Champion laid out her desire to get the women’s locker room on the same page and bring back the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The championships have been vacant since May 16th when Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on a taping for Monday Night Raw.

It was later announced that a tournament would take place to crown new champions, but this is yet to come to fruition. Bayley, who has famously held the titles alongside Banks on two occasions, wants them to be an important part of the show.

“It’s going to be a long road, just putting things together and trying to show certain people, or trying to get the whole locker room on the same page,

“If we worked a little less selfishly if we kind of see the bigger picture. I feel like we’ve been in this tunnel of, we’re trying to show our bosses, ‘I have what it takes. No, I have what it takes.’ It turns us against each other. No, let’s show them all what we can do. If we all show them that we can get along and do a show and we’re not going to complain about every little thing, then it will make them want to give us more because we’re easier to work with.

There is a fine line between fighting for what you believe in and then trying to make the best out of every situation. I think I can help the girls that I bring in navigate these things to further the division. I want the tag titles to come back and play a very important role on the show.”

The star continued by urging her fellow female Superstars to “trust the process” and appreciate the bigger picture.

“I am capable to…I get along with most everybody and I think I can help everybody realize that I’m not doing this because I’m selfish and I’m not doing this because I want it all about me, I’m doing this or the bigger picture and it’s going to be better in the end. Trust the process. Trust me. Trust what we’re doing.”

She later clarified her earlier comments regarding the locker room working towards a common goal.

“I’m not saying that’s not the case right now. Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in this hamster wheel and we just do our job and it’s ‘Okay, let me go back and do whatever.’ It’s going to take a lot more focus to take this to the next level, which I think we’re going to get to.”

Bayley made her big return at SummerSlam alongside Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky where the trio confronted Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. On the following episode of Raw, the three women attacked Lynch backstage, before also assaulting Asuka and Alexa Bliss.
