An injured WWE star hints at going back to their NXT roots.
On July 13th NXT announced a 20-Woman Battle Royal for the following week to determine the new number one contender for Many Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship. Rose responded to the announcement on Twitter with the simple question, “Who’s going to step up?”
The champion’s question prompted Bayley to respond, teasing that she might show up and stake her claim for the title. Bayley has been out of action since July 2021 due to a torn ACL.

Bayley is no stranger to winning gold in NXT. In 2015, she defeated former tag partner Sasha Banks for the NXT Women’s Championship in Brooklyn, NY. The match between the two is considered by many to be one of the most remarkable women’s matches in the last decade. Bayley would go on to enjoy a 223 day reign as champion before ultimately losing the title at TakeOver: Dallas to Asuka.
For months, Bayley has teased when she’ll return. Prior to Money In The Bank, the huggable one posted a photo of herself laying in bed and hugging the Money in the Bank briefcase.
She also teased coming after Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Although there has been no official word on when the star will be returning to action, it appears that fans won’t have to wait too much longer. It was recently reported that the former NXT Women’s Champion has been training at the Performance Center in preparation for a comeback.
