Bayley Teases Elimination Chamber Return

Bayley Thumb

Bayley took to social media and seemingly indicated that she wants to return from injury as the mystery entrant in the Elimination Chamber!

Back in July 2021, Bayley suffered a torn ACL during a training session at the WWE Performance Center ahead of WWE’s retunr to live touring.

At the time, Fightful reported that ‘The Role Model’ was chain wrestling as part of the training session when her knee ‘popped’. It was expected that she would be out of action for up to nine months.

Dave Meltzer recently reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bayley was among the names expected back in time for WrestleMania, but the former SmackDown Women’s Champion might be eyeing a return as soon as the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia on February 19th.

When WWE’s twitter account announced that a Raw Women’s Championship opportunity would be on the line inside the Elimination Chamber, the graphic posted showed five women who would be in the match and also indicated that there would be a surprise entrant. Bayley responded to the tweet with an emoji of a leg, seemingly referencing the fact that she’s healed from her leg injury and is itching to get back into title competition.

This tease comes after the former Women’s Tag Team Champion gave a positive update on her progress back in December in an Instagram Live video.

“Anyway, people are asking how my knee is. So, my knee is doing great, my leg’s doing great, my ankle’s doing great, my shin is doing great, my hip is doing great, my mind is doing great… so, I mean it’s only a matter of time.”

Bayley is not currently assigned to either Raw or SmackDown

Prior to her injury, Bayley was set to take on Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank. Bianca Belair went on to lose the title to a returning Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, so it remains to be seen if Bayley will get another shot or whether her focus will shift to the Raw Women’s Title as she was not selected in the WWE Draft and remains a free agent.

Speaking in an interview with Inside the Ropes’ Gary Cassidy, Bianca Belair praised Bayley as a locker room leader and said that she doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
