Bayley has revealed that she’s looking forward to a major WWE anniversary in early 2023.
On January 24th 2013 Bayley wrestled inside a WWE ring for the first time teaming with Charlotte Flair and Paige (Saraya) to defeat Summer Rae, Audrey Marie and Emma at an NXT live event. This means that in a little over three months, the leader of Damage CTRL will celebrate the 10th anniversary of her WWE debut.
During an appearance on The Five Count Podcast, Bayley reflected on the milestone, commenting that at one point she never imaged she’d be win the company for more than a month.
“I can’t believe in January I’ll almost be here for a decade,” she said. “And that sounds crazy, because I remember not even thinking I could make it a month.”
The star went on to point out how special it is to reach that level of tenure, noting that The Rock was only in the company full-time for seven years, while Trish Stratus’ full-time career last only six years.
“They’ve both come back, and these guys come back and do things here and there, but to be in WWE consistently for 10 years is just a dream come true to me,” Bayley said. “And to feel like I still have things to contribute and things I can do to help the women’s division and the company as a whole is just awesome. It’s been the greatest dream come true.”
Looking ahead, Bayley explained that there’s still plenty more that she wants to achieve, including a win in the Royal Rumble match.
“I still haven’t main-evented WrestleMania, and I feel like that’s a big deal to everybody, especially because it’s been done a couple of times now in the women’s division,” Bayley said. “I would love to do that, or just have a singles title match at WrestleMania. [I] would love to win the Royal Rumble, but those are just like little things.”
The former NXT Women’s Champion is set to make more history at Extreme Rules when she challenges Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship. The bout will mark the first-ever singles all-female Ladder Match.
