Bayley Shaves PWI Ranking Into Her Hair

Bayley has taken the celebration of her latest accolade to a whole new level… shaving her PWI Women’s 100 ranking into the back of her hair!

It’s been something of a triumphant year for Bayley. Starting off 2020 with a successful Championship defence at the Royal Rumble, she became the longest-reigning Smackdown Woman’s Champion, totalling 380 days. Bayley would go on to become a double champion, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Sasha Banks. Although losing the Smackdown Women’s Championship to former partner Banks, Bayley is celebrating another accolade, ranking number 1 on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Women’s 100. Following her achievement, Bayley has decided to show it off in an unusual way.

Taking to Twitter, Bayley shared a photo of the back of her head with the number 1 shaved into her hair. Commenting on her recent number 1 ranking, Bayley tweeted:

“I’m usually a very humble human being but @WWEBigE said that I should flaunt how I am the number 1 wrestler in all the land!!!!!! Above all the rest!!!!! Consistently the best!!!So I would like to dedicate this cut to you, EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Damn I am so good. @OfficialPWI”

Bayley, who jumped from the number 6 position in the 2019 edition of the list, was placed ahead of the likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair as well as NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai and AEW Women’s World’s Champion Hikaru Shida, all of which ranked within the top 10. The evaluation period to determine the rankings was from October 1st, 2019 to September 30th, 2020. Several factors played a role in the women’s ranking, included Championship victories, technical proficiency and win/loss record.

Making her professional wrestling debut in September 2008, Bayley performed on the independent circuit under the name Davina Rose, until signing with WWE in 2012. She made her debut for the company in January 2013 at an NXT live event, appearing under a mask as ‘Luchadora’ to team with Paige and Charlotte Flair in a winning effort against Summer Rae, Audrey Maire and Emma.

Debuting on NXT television in March of that year, she adopted a new character and began using the name Bayley. She would go on to become the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion as well as holding both Smackdown and Raw Women’s Championships as well as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, becoming the WWE’s first Women’s Triple Crown Champion.

Inside The Ropes congratulates Bayley on this achievement.
