Bayley Royal Rumble Elimination Mistake Revealed

By Matt Tennant. Published 12th February 2021.

According to PWInsider, the Royal Rumble elimination of Bayley was a mistake and wasn’t meant to happen until later in the 30-Woman spectacular.

Entering at number one, the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion lasted an impressive 29:08 and tossed Ruby Riott before being sent to the showers by current rival, Bianca Belair, as Mickie James made her entrance.

As per the report, the cameras missed Bayley’s elimination because it occurred at the wrong time with ‘The Role Model’ slated for a slightly longer run in the bout before being tipped over the summit. The longest reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion in history was due to remain inside the squared circle until James had made her full entrance and got involved in the action.

The first either the commentators or fans knew of the star’s exit was when the company aired a replay after the announcers had been informed that the former NXT Women’s Champion had been dumped too early.

While Bianca Belair makes her decision of who she will do battle with at WrestleMania after winning the Royal Rumble Match, Bayley is locked in a mini-feud with Ruby Riott and The Riott Squad on WWE’s blue brand after defeating the former on the February 5 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
