Bayley Provides Update On Injury Status

By Lyle Kilbane. Published 27th November 2021.

Bayley has provided the latest update on her injury status as she shares a photo as she bids to recover from a serious knee injury.

Back in July 2021, Fightful Select reported that Bayley sustained an ACL tear during a mandatory ‘return to the road’ training session at the WWE Performance Center.

The report went on to add that ‘The Role Model’ was chain wrestling as part of the preparation for WWE’s return to live touring and during the training session her knee would ‘pop’.

Bayley was originally scheduled to face Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money In The Bank but her injury put paid to that. Instead, Belair defended her championship successfully against Carmella on the SmackDown before the pay-per-view itself.

Taking to social media, the WWE Grand Slam Champion shared a photo that shows her walking with crutches.

Fightful Select’s initial report also added that at least two talents on the SmackDown roster were openly frustrated about the company’s lack of roster depth and how it has left the brand struggling to find a last-minute replacement for the SmackDown Women’s Title match with one member of the SmackDown roster stating that the WWE ‘did it to themselves.’

There is no word on a timeframe for Bayley to return to action but with an estimated nine months on the shelf, fans will be hoping to see the Role Model back in action in time for WrestleMania 38.
