Bayley asked a former WWE star if she could use one of her infamous finishing moves.
Bayley made her return to the WWE after a torn ACL put her on the shelf for a little over a year. She made her return at SummerSlam 2022 where she was accompanied by a returning Dakota Kai and IYO SKY.
Dakota and IYO have been competing in the Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament while Bayley just recently made her in ring return on the August 22nd edition of Monday Night Raw against Aliyah.
As many wrestlers do, Bayley had many wrestling idols while growing up, one in particular being former WWE star Victoria. The former WWE Diva was with the company from 2000-2009 and she then jumped over to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
In a recent interview on Alyx’s World, Victoria revealed that she had previously met a young Bayley twice and that The Role Model recently asked if she could use the infamous Spider-Web move:
“I met Bayley twice when she was a little girl, in line as an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old, saying ‘I’m gonna be a Diva,’ You know how many times we hear that from fans? … They have no idea how hard it is to get in the business and how you sacrifice and are away from your family. They think it’s a piece of cake.”
“She was such a big fan of mine. She actually texted me the other day. ‘Hey, do you mind if I take your spinning Sidewalk Slam?’ And I go ‘The Spider-Web? I’d be honored. I’d be so honored.’… I wouldn’t be offended if anybody took [my finishing move] the Widow’s Peak. I’m not in the business anymore. It’s an homage to me, because they watched me. But Bayley is one that is just so kind and giving.”
Victoria is yet to be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame, but without a doubt she is most certainly a WWE legend who deserves to be inducted.
