Bayley explains that she feels “like a mom” to Sasha Banks and Naomi and commented on their endeavors following their WWE departure.
Although rumours throughout August indicated they would soon be returning to WWE, Sasha Banks and Naomi remain absent from WWE programming. The former Women’s Tag Team Champions walked out of the company in May, putting their status up in the air.
They’ve steadily made a number of appearances outwith the sports entertainment giant, the latest of which came during New York Fashion Week.
Raw Superstar and Damage CTRL leader Bayley was in attendance for the event, and in a recent interview with Baby Huey of In the Kliq, she said that she doesn’t feel comfortable commenting on their controversial WWE exit since it was before she made her own return to the company at SummerSlam, but that she’s proud of all the accomplishments they’ve achieved in the meantime.
“It’s hard to give any thoughts since I wasn’t personally there, you know, and no matter even if I was there, no one’s going to understand their mindset, or minds, or understand whatever happened besides Sasha and Naomi, so, it’s hard for me to give any type of insight on that because I’m not really sure.
“All I know is that what they’re doing now is killing it. I’ve been able to spend some time with them and they’re freakin’ — they’re models. They’re actresses or singers. They’re amazing. Anywhere they go, no matter what they do, I support them. They’re going to take over everywhere, take over the world, whatever they want to do, they’re going to do great.”
Continuing, the Role Model says that she felt “like a mom” when watching her friends walk the runway at New York Fashion Week.
“I was so nervous for them. I felt like a mom or something. I’ve watched them win the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. But it felt different watching them come out on that runway for such a big deal and something that they both really wanted to do and felt passionate about. Super proud of them, and it was so fun. I had a great time.”
Despite her maternal instincts, Bayley says she isn’t afraid to throw down if the pair decide to return to WWE, and she advises them to “stay on the runway.”
“If they ever do return, I’m just going to kick their ass. They might be scared to come back for me. You might want to stay on the runway.”
