Bayley Makes History With 2024 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Win

Bayley Extreme Rules

Bayley is headed to the main event of WrestleMania 40 after making history with her 2024 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble win!

This year’s Women’s Royal Rumble was certainly one to remember with plenty of surprise entrants, debuts and returns. Most notably, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made her shock WWE debut, Naomi returned to the promotion for the first time in almost two years, and Jade Cargill made her long-awaited WWE in-ring debut.

However, none of the above ultimately went the distance to earn a headline match on The Grandest Stage Of Them All. That honour went to Bayley, who entered the match at #3 and last eliminated the returning Liv Morgan to secure her road to WrestleMania 40. In doing so, Bayley also made Royal Rumble history.

Bayley Set A Brand-New WWE Royal Rumble Record

Bayley lasted a total of 1:03:30 in this year’s Rumble, allowing her to set a brand-new record for the longest period spent in a single Women’s Royal Rumble match. The record was, in fact, broken twice during the bout as Naomi’s 1:02:10 spent in the match overtook the record set by Rhea Ripley’s 1:01:08 spent in last year’s Women’s Rumble match.

Bayley now has the opportunity to challenge either WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley or WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY in a main event match at WrestleMania 40. The 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble didn’t drop any hints at who her future opponent will be, though one would imagine her Damage CTRL ally SKY is the more likely option, given the recent teases of bad blood in the group towards her as of late.

Following the victory, Rhea Ripley pitched a unique match for WrestleMania.
