Bayley has named a current NXT Superstar as a potential fourth member to add to Damage CTRL, joining her, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY.
Bayley returned from injury at this year’s SummerSlam after over a year on the sidelines due to a torn ACL injury suffered in a training session, but she didn’t come alone. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion was joined by Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, who have joined forces to form the Damage CTRL stable.
Appearing on The Wrestling Classic, Bayley was asked about the potential of her faction competing in a WarGames match and, tasked with choosing a hypothetical fourth member to join Damage CTRL if the match did occur, she turned to NXT:
“Fourth partner, I guess I’m gonna have to go with Indi [Hartwell]. We spent a lot of time together and she knows how my big ol’ brain up here is working and where I’m at right now in my career. She’s a ride-or-die, you know. She’s there because of the match I had, so I know she’s gonna go into war with me”
The match Bayley is referring to is her classic NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match against Sasha Banks, which seemingly inspired Indi Hartwell to become a professional wrestler. ‘The Role Model’ went on to reveal that she became close with Hartwell during her recovery from her ACL injury:
“She spent countless hours with me after her training like she did training, she did promo classes, she did weight training, and she would still come and train with me afterwards. She knows I can’t thank her enough for spending that time with me. We were able to learn from each other and bond as friends as well”
Bayley’s Damage CTRL stable has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in WWE’s women’s division. Most recently, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
