Bayley is a grand slam women’s champion in WWE, holding every title available to her but now she has a new goal, to face the voice of SmackDown Michael Cole in the ring.
Since the pandemic shut down live events, Bayley has shone in the empty arena environment as she has taken to trading verbal barbs with Michael Cole. The ribbing went a step further when at the 2021 Royal Rumble Bayley went as far as shaving ‘Cole’ into the back of her head. However, this slightly backfired on Bayley when Cole wasn’t on commentary for the women’s Royal Rumble match that she was entered into.
Now speaking to Metro.co.uk, the longest-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion first remarked on a potential match against the man who is undefeated at WrestleMania.
“Oh, I will make it happen! Don’t even worry about it! It’ll happen.”
Going on to discuss how the targeting of Cole might be nearing its end now that the company is preparing to head back onto the road in front of fans, Bayley admits she’ll miss hearing every word he says.
“I am gonna miss that. I don’t know if people realise it or they think I’m doing it just for fun – which it is fun, to give Cole crap. But I can literally hear them! They’re 10 feet away from me in an empty arena, so I can hear everything he’s saying, so it just felt fitting to respond to it. Why not?”
Surprisingly Michael Cole has competed in eleven matches in WWE [according to cagematch.net] with most of these coming in 2011 as part of his feud with Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. Unsurprisingly Cole has a losing record of eight losses and three wins. The most high-profile win of his career came in his infamous match with Lawler at WrestleMania 27.
Bayley might have to wait a while before getting Michael Cole in a match as she still has her hands full with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Belair has challenged Bayley to meet her for her title at Money In The Bank in an I Quit match.
