Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY joined forces at SummerSlam – now, an official trio name appears to have been unveiled!
WWE’s 2022 SummerSlam event was the first under the pen of Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, which was clear from the offset as Bayley returned to the company after a year out injured. Flanked by Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, ‘The Role Model’ has been leading the trio to much success on Monday Night Raw.
The trio may now have a name, per a WWE trademark filing. They’ll seemingly be known as DAMAGE CTRL, as detailed in the filing made on Tuesday, 17 August:
“IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
Since their SummerSlam return, Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY have made continuous references to ‘CONTROL’ on social media. Bayley, meanwhile, made a direct ‘DAMAGE CONTROL‘ reference on Monday, the day before the trademark was filed.
With Paul Levesque in charge of WWE creative, the trio has flourished on Monday nights, wowing audiences with their frantic tag team sequences that hark back to SKY’s days in World Wonder Ring STARDOM. This has led Dakota and IYO to the semifinals of the Women’s Tag Team Championships tournament, where they’ll meet Alexa Bliss and Asuka.
Their first match as a trio, however, is scheduled for Clash At The Castle on Saturday, 3 September; they’ll face Bliss, Asuka, and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at the Principality Stadium card.
