Bayley Challenges Surprising Name To Match At WrestleMania 39

Bayley Extreme Rules

WrestleMania 39 is fast approaching. There are several big matches already confirmed to go down in Hollywood. Cody Rhodes challenges Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Charlotte Flair defends the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley.

Now, it seems as if Bayley has chosen and challenged her opponent for the Hollywood spectacular.

Appearing on WWE’s The Bump the leader of Damage CTRL had this to say about her longtime rival and SmackDown commentator, Michael Cole.

“He comes up to me every single time I see him and says, ‘When are we going to have our match … I’m undefeated.’ And I’m like dude, I have a lot to do but there will come a day where I can finally whoop him and maybe take his job.”

Bayley And Michael Cole Have Been Rivals For Years

Cole became a target of Bayley’s during the Performance Center Era. Due to a lack of audience, she would hear everything Cole was saying during her matches, which always received a swift and fierce rebuke from the then SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Speaking on the Wrestling Classic about her feud with Cole, she had these unfavourable words to say about him.

“If you guys could understand even a little bit what it’s like to wrestle inside of an empty area, putting our bodies on the line in front of zero people and all you can hear is Michael Cole’s annoying, stupid voice saying, ‘It’s Boss time!’ over and over again, it’s gonna start lighting a fire inside of you. He doesn’t seem to understand. He thinks I’m the annoying one. I’ve had to listen to his stupid voice for 20 years since I’ve been a fan and now in my ear in person.”

Despite audiences returning, the entertaining rivalry has continued and could be a part of the LA extravaganza. If a match between the two does happen at the Show of Shows, then Bayley would be at a disadvantage as Cole is undefeated at WWE’s flagship event.

Cole’s only WrestleMania match was in 2011. He faced Jerry The King Lawler in a match officiated by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Cole defeated the wrestling legend and thus remains undefeated at the Showcase of the Immortals.
