Former WWE Champion Batista had initially been scheduled to go into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2020, but that no longer seems to be the case.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony for 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it was revealed in the run up to WrestleMania 37 that the classes of 2020 and 2021 would be inducted together.

However, according to Fightful Select Batista has been pulled from the event altogether. He has been removed from the Hall of Fame advertising with Fightful reporting:

“We can confirm that as WWE sources have told us that they prefer to have Batista go in to the Hall of Fame when a full crowd can enjoy it.”

Batista was last seen in WWE at WrestleMania 35 where he was defeated by Triple H following interference from Ric Flair. Following the match Batista would announce his retirement from professional wrestling. In the later stages of his time with WWE, Batista transitioned into being an actor, finding a great deal of success as Drax in the Guardians Of The Galaxy series.

The former member of the legendary Evolution stable was due to be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with the nWo, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, The British Bulldog and The Bella Twins.

Alongside the inductees for 2020, WWE have so far announced two inductees for 2021.The first being former WWE Women’s Champion Molly Holly, and most recently, former WCW President and RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff.
