Batista Addresses WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Being Delayed & Plans To Be In Future Ceremony

Batista has commented on his WWE Hall of Fame induction which is still yet to happen.

At the start of 2020, the former World Champion was announced as the first inductee in the Hall of Fame class. However, with the world shutting down due to the COVID pandemic, no inductions took place that year and the 2020 and 2021 inductees accepted their honour inside the Thunder Dome. While many were recognised that night, The Animal did not receive his induction, likely because there were no fans in attendance.

While 3 classes have been announced since and all took place in front of a live audience, Batista has yet to be announced for a future ceremony and it is unknown when it will happen.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, the former World Champion stated that there were plans to have the induction over WrestleMania 39 weekend in Los Angeles but this could not happen due to scheduling conflicts. In regards to a future induction, Batista is still open to receiving the honour:

“Eventually I will. I want to. There was a good opportunity for me to go in a couple of years ago, and I agreed to do it. Hunter asked me to do it and I said, ‘Yeah, of course.’ It was here in LA, and I thought it was perfect, it was storybook because I won my first title here in LA. We couldn’t figure it out because I was working on a film in South Africa. So logistically, we just couldn’t make it happen. But, yeah, I’m still open to it. One day I would like to.”

Batista Will Not Have One More Match

While Hollywood stars such as John Cena and The Rock have each made their return to the wrestling world in 2024 and have competed in matches, don’t expect The Animal to do the same. During the same interview, Batista explained why one more match is not on the cards.
