CMLL stars Bandido and Último Guerrero have both tested positive for COVID-19, the promotion has announced today. As a result they have been taken off the card for their upcoming 87th anniversary show.

They join luchadoras Lluvia and Princesa Sugehit on the list of talent that have been removed from the star-studded show due to testing positive for COVID-19. This has resulted in 4 of the 7 matches announced for the card being changed, all of which were title matches.

The Bandido news in particular will come as a blow to CMLL’s audience; he was voted by fans as the challenger for Volador Jr’s NWA Historic World Welterweight Championship. Templario will replace Bandido in the match for the anniversary show. CMLL announced that the planned Volador Jr vs Bandido match has been delayed.

Último Guerrero was scheduled to defend the CMLL World Trios Championship with Euforia and Gran Guerrero against El Terrible, Templario & Hechicero. This match has also been delayed, replaced by CMLL World Welterweight champion Titan defending his title against Soberano Jr.

Despite the numerous changes to their biggest event of the year, CMLL has not cancelled or rescheduled. The show will be streamed live this Friday via Ticketmaster LIVE.
