Backstage WWE Update Emerges After Zoey Stark’s Awful Injury

WWE Superstar Zoey Stark

A backstage update has emerged about WWE star Zoey Stark’s injury and how plans for the Triple Threat Qualifier had to be changed mid-match.

Zoey’s chances of qualifying for the Money In The Bank match were dashed due to a brutal injury she suffered mid-match. At one point, Zoey landed awkwardly while attempting a missile dropkick on Kairi, which led to a horrific knee injury.

Zoey was immediately escorted backstage by medical personnel. According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, this led to Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane improvising on the fly, resulting in a loss for Sane in her return match. While Rhea might have always been supposed to win, it was noted that the second half of the match had to be altered after the unplanned moment, as Zoey could no longer do her spots.

Additionally, Sean Ross Sapp implied that Stark was originally slated to take the pin.

“Now, from what I understand, I want to make this clear.

I don’t know who was supposed to originally win the match, but it was implied to me that Zoey was supposed to take the pin. It was implied to me”

H/T: Fightful

This is a major hurdle for Zoey as the WWE star suffered a similar injury in 2021, which was mentioned by Michael Cole on commentary on Monday Night RAW.
