The uncertainty around Seth Rollins‘ injury has raised a lot of backstage confusion in WWE.
During the recent WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, Georgia, Seth Rollins and LA Knight’s singles match came to an awkward halt when the former landed badly and injured his knee. After getting checked by officials, the bout ended almost immediately after, with The Megastar hitting his opponent with his finisher to pick up a bizarre win.
Triple H later stated during the Evolution press conference that The Visionary’s case was inconclusive, but it wasn’t looking good. Reports added that the superstar was seen with crutches backstage at the all-women’s premium live event, and that he had initially been booked to win against The Megastar at SNME.
After signs pointed to Seth Rollins’ injury being legitimate, reports then emerged contradicting this. John Pollock of POST Wrestling previously stated that it was only a work. This was later backed by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer and Alvarez stated that Rollins may have been hurt, but it happened days before SNME, and the injury was only a cover-up. Dave Meltzer added that The Visionary’s injury layoff may not even be very long, and might lead to a surprise WWE return or Money in the Bank cash-in.
Now, it looks like more confusion has been added to The Visionary’s status.
Internal Skepticism Present For Seth Rollins’ WWE Injury
In a latest report by Fightful Select, the situation regarding Seth Rollins’ “very cloudy” injury has been kept quiet internally. Although some staff, producers, and talents were told it was legitimate, “internal skepticism” was said to be present regarding its severity, with some believing they were being worked.
The report added that Rollins was expected to win at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, but an audible was called after he was injured. The following night at Evolution, he was seen on crutches when he was present backstage.
