The WWE roster recently went through a number of drastic changes when the Draft saw multiple Superstars and champions switch brands.
The Draft saw Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair picked for SmackDown and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley headed to Raw. But Belair and Ripley weren’t the only champions to make the move.
Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and United States Champion Austin Theory also swapped shows while the NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell was picked for Monday nights and the Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre were chosen for Fridays.
However, Hartwell and Fyre and Dawn weren’t the only members of the roster that make the jump to the main roster. Pretty Deadly, Grayson Waller, Cameron Grimes, JD McDonagh, Zoey Stark and many others made their way to WWE’s main shows, but surprisingly Bron Breakker wasn’t one of them.
Breakker was one of the names heavily touted to be involved in the roster changes during the lead-up to the Draft, yet he remained where he is.
According to the Twitter account, WRKED Wrestling the former Champion wasn’t called up to the main roster due to management wanting him to “cultivate his character.”
Regarding Bron Breakker going undrafted; we’ve heard there were tentative plans to draft Bron to the main roster, but officials are so impressed w/ his heel persona, he remained in NXT to better cultivate his character. There are tentative plans to call him up after SummerSlam.
Bron Breakker Turned Heel After Losing The NXT Championship
At Stand & Deliver on April 1st Breakker was defeated by Carmelo Hayes losing his title and ending his 362-day reign in the process. Following the loss Breakker took out his frustrations on the new champion and his hype man Trick Williams to a chorus of boos.
After the heel turn, Breakker cursed the fans for turning on him toward the end of his title run while continuing to target Hayes and Williams.
Following several attacks Breakker gets his chance to get his title back when he faces Hayes at Battleground
in Lowell, Massachusetts at the Tsongas Center on May 28th.
