Ronda Rousey hasn’t wrestled since winning the ‘WrestleMania Showcase’ alongside Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 39.
In the lead-up to the event, it was reported that the star was dealing with a hairline fracture in her arm which had kept her out of action. Even in the match at WrestleMania she only briefly got involved to pick up the win.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Rousey still isn’t cleared for a full return.
“Well, you know the deal is their….Ronda Rousey is still not cleared, so they can’t do the Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler thing, which was the plan,”
Ronda Rousey Forced Change WWE To WrestleMania Plans
Ronda Rousey’s involvement at WrestleMania 39 was very different from how it had originally been planned. Before Christmas, the plan was for the star to defend her SmackDown Women’s Title at Rhea Ripley, but that was changed due to Rousey pushing to win tag team gold with Shayna Baszler.
This saw her lose the SmackDown Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair on December 30th. However, plans for Rousey and Baszler to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles were subsequently scrapped. By the time the show rolled around, the tag team titles weren’t defended on the show at all.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Tag Team Titles on the April 10th episode of Raw, defeating Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch. After the match, Stratus turned heel by attacking The Man.
On SmackDown, Morgan and Rodriguez celebrated their win, only to be interrupted by Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green.
