Backstage Update On Rhea Ripley WWE Return & WrestleMania Plans

Rhea Ripley speaking to WWE crowd

A new report has provided an update on Rhea Ripley following her orbital bone injury.

On the October 29th edition of NXT, Rhea Ripley was written off TV when she was attacked by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the parking lot. The company later reported that Ripley had suffered a fractured right orbital socket and would be out of action for “an undisclosed amount of time.”

It has since been reported that the injury is legitimate, but actually took place the previous week on Raw, likely during a headbutt spot.

The injury meant Ripley was pulled from her planned match at Crown Jewel, where she was set to take on Raquel Rodriguez. It has been speculated that the Four-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match replaced the planned bout as it was the only match added after Ripley was injured.

WWE Hopeful Rhea Ripley Will Be Back Before WrestleMania 41

Now, PWInsider has provided an update on the status of the former World Women’s Champion. They report that there is unfortunately still no timetable for Ripley’s return.

Internally, the company is hoping Ripley’s injury might night be as bad as feared, and the star has seemingly been earmarked for a big role at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025 if she is cleared in time for the annual spectacular.

Despite being on the injured list, Rhea Ripley has been announced for a UK and European tour in March 2025, possibly showing confidence that the star will be ready to compete when the tour goes ahead. It should be noted, however, that the announcement contains the warning that “talent is subject to change.”

In a recent interview, Rhea Ripley spoke out about the challenges faced by the Women’s wrestlers over the years.
