AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II is set to take place on June 25th live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
The stacked card features many of AEW’s top stars competing against their NJPW counterparts, with two matches above all others particularly catching the eye. In a dream match for many, Bryan Danielson will be tangling with Kazuchika Okada, and Will Ospreay will look to get revenge on Kenny Omega after he was defeated by the now IWGP United States Champion at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
This has led to a great deal of speculation over which match will take the main event spot.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while Okada vs. Danielson has been positioned as the main event on television, there has also been talk of Ospreay vs. Omega topping the card.

No one has said this, but on TV they kept pushing the idea that Okada and Danielson was the main event. Which leads to the idea that they’re going on last. I know that some have talked about Ospreay and Omega going on last. But it’s not MJF and Tanahashi and I don’t think anyone thinks MJF and Tanahashi is going on last, but that is how many fans think that, like, ‘Oh, MJF, the AEW Champion is going last.’ And in this one, I do not think that,”
