Backstage Update On Liv Morgan Following Recent Injury

Liv Morgan

In the hours before the May 15th episode of Monday Night Raw it was reported that Liv Morgan had suffered an injury causing a change to plans for the show.

Morgan had been due to team with Raquel Rodriguez to defend the Women’s Tag Team titles against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green. However, the match was scrapped, or at least postponed, after Morgan suffered an injury on SmackDown just days earlier.

With Morgan out, Rodriguez took on and defeated Chelsea Green despite the best efforts of Deville at ringside.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer offered an insight into Morgan’s injury, noting that she won’t be out of action for long.

“That’s legit. She was hurt in the Friday match….If you’re going to miss six months then yes, but if it’s just one match they don’t strip [of the title] for a minor injury. I don’t know what the injury is, and they didn’t say, but the way everything was played up, you know it’s not like if she was going to be out for a long time with this injury, she’d say she was out, and then they would take steps of stripping them of the belts.

You know, it felt like it was something where, you know she’s going to be back very soon. And they went and did an angle with Ronda and Bazler with Raquel to build up a title match so I think it’s a short-term thing for Liv. That’s certainly the impression based on their booking,”

Liv Morgan And Raquel Rodriguez Get New Challengers

Despite Liv Morgan being out of action, it appears that she and Rodriguez already have new challengers. Following her victory on Raw, Rodriguez was attacked by the newly drafted duo of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. It has long been believed that Rousey and Baszler will be winning tag team gold once the former has overcome her own injury struggles.
