A former AEW Champion recently suffered a major health scare.
Recently, on the 11th June episode of Dynamite Summer Blockbuster, Swerve Strickland faced off against Will Ospreay in a long battle. The match lasted for around 30 minutes before ending in a time-limit draw.
However, after the bout, The Young Bucks launched a post-match attack on Strickland, which led to Ospreay coming out for the save, but instead received a thumbtack-covered double superkick. However, prior to this moment, speculations began about Ospreay possibly suffering a broken nose during the match, as he bled during the bout.
Now, Dave Meltzer of WON has provided the latest update on The Aerial Assassin’s health scare. The report noted that Ospreay is fine and is expected to wrestle next week as well.
Will Ospreay Has Opened Up On Recent AEW Criticisms
“It’s essential (to be honest with the audience). For me, I think the more I show vulnerability and the more — I know that one of the criticisms I get, not just about my hair, but like… dressing appropriate for the role I wanna be as one of the top guys and I do understand that to an extent. But I feel like more of the authentic that I dress, the more that people relate to me. I’d just done an interview over in a news studio.
I feel like because I am dressed in a certain way, I look way more presentable. Like, I come down a level and it’s more of like I’m way more humble, I’m way more approachable in that sense and I think that’s the reason a lot of people have gravitated more towards me in that sense.”
