Just weeks ahead of his rumoured return to AEW, CM Punk made a visit to IMPACT Wrestling.
A week on from popping up backstage at Raw in Chicago, Punk was pictured at IMPACT Wrestling’s ‘Spring Slugfest’ tapings on April 29th, also in his hometown.
In photos from the visit, Punk looked in good spirits, while Jordynne Grace shared a photo with the multi-time World Champion on social media.
Meanwhile, a new report from Fightful Select has offered an insight into the visit and what Punk got up to. In casual mood, Punk reportedly played a game of Uno with IMPACT talents and spoke with over a dozen wrestlers in total.
Fightful add that he had “some kind words” for a couple of wrestlers he spoke with backstage. He was said to be “pleasant” and happy to be there. This was believed to be Punk’s first visit to an IMPACT/TNA taping in 19 years. The star had a brief spell with the promotion back in 2003 and into 2004.
CM Punk is expected to return to AEW on the debut episode of their new Saturday night television show Collision. It is believed that the show will premiere on June 17th, live from the United Center in Chicago, the same venue where Punk made his AEW debut.
Eric Bischoff Slams “Desperate Little B*tch” CM Punk
CM Punk began his tour of promotions not named AEW on April 24th when he dropped in backstage at WWE Raw. This was the first time that Punk had attended a WWE event since walking out of the company back in 2014.
While the true motives behind the visit are only known by the man himself, there has been a great deal of speculation about what it might mean.
In his assessment of the situation, Eric Bischoff pulled no punches, calling Punk a “desperate little b*tch.”
