Becky Lynch won’t be appearing on the April 17th episode of WWE Raw in Little Rock, AR.
On last week’s episode, Lynch was set to defend her WWE Women’s Tag Team Champoinship alongside Lita against the team of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, when Lita was found to be attacked backstage, Trish Stratus stepped in to take her friend’s place in the match.
After Liv Morgan pinned Stratus to win the titles, Lynch was clearly upset, but tried to console her partner only to be attacked from behind by Stratus, who turned heel for the first time in 18 years. Taking to social media earlier today, Lynch declared that she would not be in attendance on tonight’s episode, while Stratus is advertised to explain her actions.
According to a new report for WRKD Wrestling, Lynch is actually suffering from an injury that is being used to highlight her storyline animosity toward Stratus.
“The reason for Becky Lynch’s absence from tonight’s #WWERaw is that she is currently dealing with a minor injury. This will also serve as a cover to play into the betrayal she feels from last week’s angle with Trish Stratus.”

A further update from Fightful Select reveals that the injury in question is a minor foot injury that’s been aggravated recently.
The update from Fightful also notes that Lynch was scheduled for the April 17th episode as of last week, but despite plans changing, sources indicate that there are “no issues to their knowledge between Becky Lynch and WWE.” Still, her absence from the episode is said to be legitimate.
When Does Becky Lynch’s Contract Expire?
The update from Fightful Select also notes that Lynch’s contract is set to expire in June of 2024. According to WWE sources, she and the company have not yet begun negotiations for her to sign a new deal.
The star reportedly signed a new deal when she returned to the company in 2021, and the time she spent away on maternity leave did not play a part in the timing of her contract.
