Backstage Update On Bayley’s WWE Future

WWE is rife with uncertainty, and Bayley threw herself into that mix during WrestleMania weekend.

In the lead-up to the event, the star spoke openly about missing Mercedes Mone now that she’s left the company, before posting a cryptic message on social media about her future. Bayley posted the message after Damage CTRL was defeated on night one of WrestleMania by Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus.

While some took the post to mean that the group was splitting up, others questioned whether it could be the former Women’s Champion saying goodbye to WWE.

The speculation ratcheted up even further following the April 3rd episode of Raw when Bayley didn’t appear alongside Dakota Kai and IYO SKY for their match. To add further intrigue, it was reported that the star had been scheduled to appear before being pulled from the show.

However, the most recent report on the situation notes that Bayley won’t be going anywhere.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider via PWInsider Elite, stated that “sources indicate there is no expectation of her leaving the company.” He added that Bayley’s post on social media was more to create a buzz around her upcoming appearances rather than her genuinely being unhappy.

A new report from Dave Meltzer writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also offered some more insight into the situation around Damage CTRL. Meltzer noted that Bayley was ordered not to join her partners on Raw, with the belief within WWE being that the group has broken up.

“In addition, Bayley was told not to go out with Kai & Sky. While not official, there was a belief Damage Ctrl was being broken up and a tweet from Bayley indicated that. Kai & Sky basically looked like enhancement talent in the presentation of the tag match.”

While Bayley looks to be staying with WWE, the same might not be true of Drew McIntyre. It is believed that the star is unhappy over money and creative, and is considering his future as a result.
